Teacher Li Haohui, now in his eighties, remains enthusiastic about training in Supple Tai Chi Push Hands.

Tai Chi is a gem of Chinese martial arts, embodying the "Wu Wei" (non-action) philosophical logic of Laozi and Zhuangzi, as well as the yin-yang transformation philosophy of the I Ching. The principle of "Wu Wei" is reflected in Tai Chi training methods such as softness, non-resistance, taking losses, courtesy, neutralization, and self-sacrifice. The yin-yang aspect is manifested in Tai Chi training through the emptiness and solidity of the legs, the movement and stillness of the hands, and the hardness and softness of the body. These principles are essential basic elements for Tai Chi techniques such as "overcoming hardness with softness," "subduing motion with stillness," and "responding after the opponent yet arriving first."
